Mother Mar\u00eda F\u00e9lix Torres, who founded the Company of the Saviour (Compa\u00f1\u00eda del Salvador)<\/em>\u00a0and the Mater Salvatoris Schools, was born in Albelda (Huesca) on 25 August 1907.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She received an exacting education and in 1930 became one of the first Spanish women to graduate in Chemical Sciences at the University of Zaragoza.<\/p>\n

Her desire to answer God\u2019s calling, following in the footsteps of St Ignatius of Loyola, led her to establish the Company of the Saviour Religious Institute in 1952. In 1986, it was approved by the Holy See as a Congregation of pontifical right.<\/p>\n

After a life devoted to educating young people, she died on the morning of 12 January 2001, at 93 years of age.<\/strong><\/p>\n
